As an exercise for my exploration of Documentary creation, I have have tested five different interview setups. I have tested with lighting and camera positions to evoke different emotions.

The following images from those setups:

Setup 1: Natural light in the shade with architecture in the background.

Person Outside Building Sitting on Handrail

Setup 2: Broad Daylight in upper body only

Person in park answering questions

Setup 3: Dramatic closeup with one light

Dramatic black and white closeup of man.

Setup 4: Midshot with Key light and Hair light.

Man looking into camera talking

Setup 5: Typical Desk interview with subtle key and fill light.

Man at table talking

Overall, I enjoyed doing this exercise. I feel like I have a better grasp on setting up interviews.
